Assemblage Constructions
Assemblage is one of the ways I push my collage making into 3-D. Inspired by folk art, the long standing tradition of assemblage, bricolage and recycle-art, I began making Bottle Cap Robots. Each "Assemblage Cappy" is a whimsical character built entirely from repurposed or recycled materials direct from everyday living.

I use bottle caps for the arms and legs, vintage and recycled tins for the figure and faces, "bricolage" for the details and postage stamps to decorate the wooden base of each mini-sculpture.
Each Cappy is one-of-a-kind and completely hand constructed. I construct and assemble them in my summer studio, which I set up annually in my garage for outdoor art making. I started to make them when I was invited to join the Art Hop event in Burlington, VT which is a city-wide art celebration scheduled in September. Currently, I make them on commission.
