Sketch Book Project

My sketchbook titled “I Am A Scavenger” can be found at the Brooklyn Art Library where it lives with 50,000 artist sketchbooks from 130 countries. I joined The Sketchbook Project in 2009 with my first sketchbook titled: "Everybody I Know.” In the beginning, the sketchbooks were exhibited and returned.

I submitted seven collage illustrated sketchbooks from 2009–2018 and participated in the Canvas Project in 2009 with publication in The Canvas Project V2: Encyclopedia.

Six of the seven sketchbooks are in the permanent collection of the Brooklyn Art Library and can be viewed in person or online at their website.

The Sketchbook Library represents a global art project, an archive, a library, and a source of endless inspiration.

“I Am A Scavenger,” dated 01-11-11, encapsulates my philosophy as a collage artist who sees the world through the lens of an insatiable visual collector. This little sketchbook reveals my belief that “Art is not Separate” from life and there is inspiration to be found in daily living.

It traveled with the Brooklyn Mobile Art Library, along with 500 other sketchbooks, for people to read on location via their fabulous Bookmobile in various communities. This supports my democratic viewpoint that art is for everyone.

The dates and titles of my books are:

2009 Everybody I Know

2010 The Aftermath of LIFE

2011 I Am a Scavenger

2013 Chronicle
